ecFence FAQ

The “We Know You Have Questions” Edition
Because good fences make good neighbors. Great fences make jealous ones.

A gorgeous, modern, metal privacy fence that doesn’t rot, crack, warp, peel, or spontaneously combust like some materials we won’t name (but rhyme with wood and PVC). It’s made of pre-painted galvanized steel (PPGI) — aka steel with superpowers.

Homeowners who want a fence that won’t betray them. Installers who want something easy enough to finish before lunch. Distributors who want a product that actually sells itself.

Basically: anyone tired of fences that act like drama queens.

Strong enough to laugh at hurricanes, termites, rust, and peeling paint. Just follow your local building codes, because we still respect laws… most of the time.

Short answer: Not if it’s installed correctly.
Our panels are protected with a zinc coating and factory-applied paint — basically the metal equivalent of sunscreen and moisturizer.

⚠️ Installer pro tip:
If panels are cut improperly (like using a stone blade instead of a cold-cut blade), the heat can damage the zinc coating and expose the steel underneath. Translation: don’t melt the armor.

Use the right blade, follow install guidelines, and your fence will age slower than your group chat.

Three:

  • Arctic White (clean, modern, “I drink iced coffee year-round” energy)
  • Natural Bronze (rich, warm, main-character vibes)
  • Foggy Gray (minimalist, neutral, the “I read architecture magazines” color)

Pick one. Or mix them in containers and confuse your neighbors.

Our standard heights are 4 ft, 6 ft, and 8 ft — from “cute little divider” to “don’t talk to me or my yard ever again.” That said, the system is modular.

Each panel adds or removes about 6 inches, so installers can fine-tune the height by stacking more or fewer panels when needed.

Translation: standard when you want it, flexible when you need it.

Set your posts, let the concrete cure, snap the panels in, and enjoy the oddly satisfying feeling of a fence installing itself “almost.”

Pro tip: level the starter panel and the rest follow like obedient metal ducklings.

Installers love it. Homeowners love it. Your chiropractor will love it.

Yes. And you’ll want to — certification gets your business listed on our site, gives you access to resources, and makes customers think you have your life together.

If you’re ready to stock a product that won’t sit on your rack collecting dust, we’re ready to talk.
We work with distributors across the U.S., and yes — you can be on the map.

Nope. We like teamwork.
Homeowners can buy through our authorized distributors, and installers can source from them too.

It varies by location, height, and how much of your yard you’re trying to hide.
Your distributor will give you exact numbers. But in general, you’re looking at premium metal fencing that won’t need repainting, replacing, or emotional support.

Yes.
Same material, same strength, same aesthetic — just with hinges.

Steel is 100% recyclable, and no trees suffer trauma in the making of our fence.
Also: long-lasting = less waste = planet happy.

No staining.
No sealing.
No “Ugh, it’s Saturday and the fence looks sad again.”
Just an occasional rinse. That’s it.

A level, drill, screws, miter saw, shovel or auger, and concrete.
No exotic tools from the 1800s.
No “one wrong move and it snaps” materials.
Just normal tools for a normal, easy day.

Yes. Panels can be cut with a miter saw to dial in a clean, custom fit — perfect for slopes, corners, and properties that refuse to be straight.

⚠️ Important installer note:
Always use a cold-cut blade. Stone or abrasive blades generate heat that can damage the zinc coating and compromise corrosion protection.

Translation: cut it clean, not hot.

Do it right, and the system performs exactly as designed.

That depends on where you’re buying from.
ecFence works through authorized distributors, and inventory levels vary by location, color, and volume. For accurate availability and lead times, your distributor is the best source.

If you’re a distributor or installer and have questions about stocking, lead times, or availability — talk to us directly. We’re happy to help you plan it right.

We move fast — just not recklessly.

Very.
The privacy design keeps pets focused on their yard instead of plotting escapes or barking at ghosts.

Because:

  • Wood rots, warps, fades, and attracts bugs
  • PVC cracks, yellows, gets brittle, and hates heat
  • Steel doesn’t care about any of that

ecFence is strong, clean, durable, modern, sustainable, and actually looks good with your house.

  • Installers → Get certified.
  • Distributors → Partner with us.
  • Homeowners → Check our “Where to Buy” page.

Either way, welcome. We saved you a seat.

Yes.
We have engineered plans available for the ecFence system.
They’re designed to support permitting, approvals, and real-world installs — not just look pretty in a folder.
If you need plans for a specific jurisdiction or application, talk to us or your distributor and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Yes.
Our plans are available in digital format, making them easy to share with engineers, inspectors, architects, and that one person who still prints everything anyway.

We’re actively working with engineering and approval processes for high-wind regions, including Miami-Dade–specific requirements.
NOA availability depends on the exact configuration and application, so for current status or documentation, contact us directly. We’ll give you the straight answer — no guessing, no fluff.

More than just fences.
The modular panel system can also be used for:
Architectural cladding
Privacy screens
Outdoor enclosures
Accent walls
Commercial and residential design features

If it needs structure, privacy, and a clean modern look — ecFence can probably handle it.
If you’re thinking outside the fence… good. So are we.
