ecFence FAQ
ecFence is a modular pre-painted Galvalume (aluminum-zinc alloy-coated) privacy fence system designed for residential and commercial use. It’s a modern, low-maintenance alternative to wood fencing and PVC/vinyl fencing — engineered to resist rot, corrosion, cracking, warping, and UV fading in high-heat, high-humidity climates like Florida and the Gulf Coast.
The system includes ecStarter, ecPanels, ecSeam Covers, ecCorner Covers, and ecEnd Covers — all precision-engineered to interlock cleanly without specialty tools.
Homeowners looking for a durable, modern privacy fence that doesn’t require repainting or replacing every few years.
Fence installers and contractors who want a system that installs faster than wood or vinyl with fewer callbacks.
Fence distributors looking to stock a metal fencing product with growing demand in Florida and South Florida markets.
ecFence panels are engineered for high-wind resistance, making them well-suited for hurricane-prone regions including South Florida, Miami-Dade County, and coastal areas. The Galvalume coating handles UV exposure and Florida heat without warping or degrading over time.
For specific wind-load ratings or jurisdiction requirements, engineered plans with sealed drawings are available. Contact us or your distributor for documentation.
Not when installed correctly. Each ecPanel features an AZ150 aluminum-zinc alloy (Galvalume) coating plus an epoxy primer and SMP (Silicone Modified Polyester) topcoat— a multi-layer corrosion protection system engineered for long-term performance in coastal and high-humidity environments. The panels carry a 25-year coating warranty.
Note: ecFence posts are galvanized steel — a different, also corrosion-resistant material suited for in-ground use.
Available now:
- Arctic White — clean, modern, high-contrast
- Natural Bronze — warm, rich, architectural
Coming soon:
- Foggy Gray — neutral, minimalist, design-forward
- Midnight Black — bold, dramatic, architectural
All colors are factory-applied and UV-stabilized for long-term fade resistance in direct sun.
Standard heights: 4 ft, 6 ft, and 8 ft.
The system is modular — each ecPanel adds or removes approximately 6 inches, so installers can fine-tune height for slopes, grade changes, or custom specifications. Standard when you want it, flexible when you need it.
- Set posts and allow concrete to cure
- Install the ecStarter profile (level this — everything follows)
- Hook each ecPanel onto the component above and rotate it down to vertical, working top-down
- Finish with ecSeam Covers, ecCorner Covers, and ecEnd Covers
Required tools: Level, drill, dry-cut chop saw with a steel-cutting blade, shovel or auger, concrete. No specialty equipment. Most installations move significantly faster than wood orvinyl fence builds of the same linear footage.

Pricing varies by location, height, and linear footage. Your authorized distributor provides exact quotes.
What you’re getting: Premium Galvalume fencing with no repainting cycles, no rot replacement, and minimal maintenance — a durable investment compared to wood or vinyl over the life of the fence.
Yes. ecFence gates combine a galvanized metal tube frame with matching ecFence panel infill — same aesthetic, same corrosion-resistant finish. Available in matching colors ready for standard hardware installation.
Yes. Metal is one of the most recycled materials on Earth — 100% recyclable at end of life. No trees are harvested in the production of ecFence panels. No plastic enters the waste stream. The long service life of the system further reduces environmental impact compared to wood fencing (which requires periodic replacement) and vinyl/PVC fencing (which is non-recyclable).
Let Trees, Be Trees. USE METAL FENCING.
Minimal. No staining. No sealing. No painting.
Recommended maintenance: Occasional rinse to remove debris or salt buildup in coastal environments. That’s it.
For Galvalume components (ecPanels, ecStarter, posts):
- Dry-cut chop saw with a steel-cutting blade
- Level, drill, shovel or auger, concrete
For aluminum trim components:
- Miter saw with a non-ferrous TCT 80-tooth+ blade
No exotic or proprietary tools required. Standard fence installer kit with the right blades.
Yes. Galvalume and Galvanized components (ecPanels, ecStarter, posts) are cut with a dry-cut chop saw and a steel-cutting blade. Aluminum trim is cut with a miter saw and a non-ferrous TCT 80-tooth+ blade.
Cut each component with the correct blade and avoid stone or abrasive blades. Follow the install guidelines and the system performs as designed.

Yes. The solid privacy panel design contains pets within the yard and blocks sight lines that trigger fence-running or barking. No gaps to squeeze through, no splinters, no exposed hardware at ground level.
Bottom line: Galvalume doesn’t rot. Doesn’t crack. Doesn’t yellow. Doesn’t care about South Florida weather.
Yes. Engineered plans for the ecFence system are available in both digital and physical format, suitable for permitting, inspections, architectural review, and contractor documentation. Contact us or your distributor to request plans for a specific application or jurisdiction.
No formal NOA is currently held, but the process is actively in pursuit. What the system does have now: it is engineered to FBC 2023 HVHZ standards with sealed drawings that have already been used to pull permits in Miami-Dade County. Contact us for current documentation.
Beyond the fence line, the modular panel system works well for clearly decorative, non-structural applications — interior accent walls and freestanding decorative privacy screens, for example.
For anything structural, load-bearing, rooftop, pool-barrier, or otherwise code-regulated —that falls outside our fence engineering. Consult your installer or a licensed engineer beforeusing the system in those contexts.
ecFence backs the system with two warranties:
- 25-year coating and corrosion warranty on ecPanels — backed by the PPGL/AZ150Galvalume coating system
- 5-year warranty on all other powder-coated components — ecSeam Covers, ecCornerCovers, and ecEnd Covers (AAMA 2603)
Few fence systems in the residential market offer coverage at this level. For full warranty terms, visit ec-fence.com/warranty.
Full. The solid panel design has no gaps, no sightlines, and no see-through sections. Once installed, the fence creates a complete visual barrier from ground to top rail. What’s in your yard stays in your yard.
No. ecFence uses a concealed-fastener design — a patented feature of the system. Trim components (ecSeam Covers, ecCorner Covers, ecEnd Covers) create clean, fastener-free faces on the finished fence. The hardware does its job out of sight.
Yes. The system accommodates uneven terrain three ways: stepped, raked, and bottom-fill. Your installer can determine the best approach based on your site’s grade. Contact us ora certified installer for a site assessment.
Yes. The interlocking panel-assembly technology is protected under U.S. Patent 11,066,846 B1.
Panels: 12 ft standard length, approximately 6-inch courses, field-cuttable to fit any run.
Posts: Galvanized square steel — 2.5×2.5 in. for up to 6 ft fences; 3×3 in. for 8 ft fences — set in 3,000 PSI concrete.
The system is engineered to FBC 2023 HVHZ standards: 115 MPH (3-second gust) for fence heights up to 6 ft, and 175 MPH for 8 ft installations. Sealed S-1 drawings are available and have been used for permit approvals in Miami-Dade County.
Note: always verify applicable wind standards with your local building department or engineer of record.
